At the heart of every great dancer is a community that believed in them.

The Davis-Williams Scholarship is dedicated to empowering the next generation of performers and educators. Named in honor of the late Baba Chuck Davis—founder of the African American Dance Ensemble, The

Chuck Davis Company, and DanceAfrica—and Mr. Jimmie Williams, former founding member

and dancer of the African American Dance Ensemble, this scholarship carries forward a profound

legacy of artistic excellence.

We believe that securing the future of dance requires active investment today. To that end, we

proudly provide the physical, mental, and financial support these talented youths need to master

their craft and carry the banner of the performing arts into the future.
